MOUNT AMA DABLAM - MOUNT PUMORI ISLAND PEAK-  MT. EVEREST SOUTH- MT. EVEREST NORTH-  KILIMANJARO- ACONCANGUA - ELBRUS

Join our dynamic climbing teams on Mt. Everest, Mt. Pumori and Mt. Ama Dablam. Operating in the Himalayas since 1991 we are a owner operated expedition company. Unlike many long time operators today who hire guides and sherpas to run their expeditions by radio from base camp or even from their hometown abroad, Tim climb along side you on the mountain. As a mountain rescue professional and mountaineering instructor, you and your family can rest assured that you in good hands. Tim has been guiding extreme mountain adventures since 1983. During this time to now he has not had one rescue or incident in the mountains.

Want to do some brushing up or looking for a place to begin? Consider our Mount Everest Training Climb.

Everest khumbu glacier to summitGETTING THERE The expedition starts in Kathmandu with a welcome briefing and Ministry of Tourism detail to register the team for climbing.  Upon completion and getting over jet lag from our international flights we will take a 40-minute flight to Lukla in the Khumbu valley, gateway to the beginning of all Everest South Expeditions. Upon arrival our porters will gather up our gear to carry to Namche where it will be transferred over to Yaks at Namche and taken on up to base camp. Our expedition gear will have gone ahead of us by helicopter along with the Sherpas who will have camp all set up for us when we arrive in about 8 days time. We will be staying in local sherpa teahouses and eating in their homes before our arrival in base camp.

 THE CLIMB

The route begins at base camp with a short walk along the moraine that leads to the icefall.  The icefall is a glacier that is heavy with large seracs and crevasses. The icefall is fixed and maintained with rope and ladders all the way to Camp I. From Camp I to Camp II the terrain is gradual with a few crevasses. From here the air is much thinner as we make our way up the Lhotse face with mixed snow and ice to Camp III.  From Camp III to the South Col the climbing is on easy to moderate mixed snow and rock leading to the South Col- Camp IV.  Summit day starts around 11:00pm the same day up fixed ropes on mixed snow and rock to the south summit, then a short traverse to the Hillary step then all up here to the summit arriving around 9:00am. The decent from the summit to the South Col takes 3-5 hours.

We will walk by foot to the border town of Zangmu in Tibet. At Zangmu we will clear Chinese customs before loading in our private jeeps for a thrilling ride through one the world's greatest canyons before rising up to the Tibetan plateau. Our expedition gear will have gone ahead of us by military truck with the Sherpas who will have camp all set up for us when we arrive in about 8 days time.

OPTION 2 - Expedition starts with a spectacular scenic flight over the Himalayas to Lhasa transfer to the Himalaya Hotel. We will spend two to three days here for acclimatization. Places we will visit along the way include Gyantse, Shigaste and Shegar before arriving at base camp.

THE CLIMB- involves a 22km, yak supported walk from base camp at 5200m to advanced base camp at 6400m over two days. We spend a couple of days at advanced base camp before making the five to six hour climb via fixed ropes up the north col.

The route is basically a straightforward trail over moraine to reach the East Rongbuk Glacier, which leads to the fixed ropes. The decent takes about 3- hours.

The North Col is a fairly large area where all expeditions make Camp 1. A mind numbing view of the entire North Face of Everest and the West Rongbuk Glacier, Lo La, Pumori, Ama Dablam and Cho Oyu.
